"Don't let the Bastards Grind You Down"
Arthur Seaton
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
As profound today as it was in 1959.
I think that there is a lot of Arthur in all of us.
Having met Alan Sillitoe on many occasions I found him to be funny, warm and very generous of his time, always willing to talk about his books, Nottingham and of course politics.
It was a pleasure to have known him.
Alan will be sadly missed but Arthur will always be with us.
"What I'm out for is a good time.
All the rest is propaganda."
Roy Foulger.
